Marina di Licosa

Marina di Licosa

Marina di Licosa”  is a detached house surrounded by greenery of the natural park of Cilento e Vallo di Diano, halfway between the typical tourist port of St. Marco of Castellabate and the tip of the mythical mermaid “Leucosia”,   south end of the Gulf of Salerno. It is reachable from the port of St. Marco through a carriage road that, after having served the luxurious villas of the area, shrinks becoming one of the most beautiful natural paths of the park.

Destination for many tourists seeking natural beauty and unspoiled landscapes to discover in step jogging or mountain biking, the trail leads to the home of the Prince of Belmonte

built in the first half of the eighteenth century, just opposite the small island of Licosa, known for its beautiful grounds, with the submerged remains of the Greek-roman city, and its crystal clear water (the coast of Castellabate receives in years the recognition of the "Blue flag" FEE).

From the noble dwelling, passing through (on foot or with two wheels means) the three kilometres of Mediterranean pine forest, you can reach the beautiful bay of Ogliastro Marina, site of the turtle Caretta-Caretta.

Along the route you can stop in one of the many spectacular bays that separate the island of Licosa from the Ogliastro bay to freshen up with a bathe in solitude and eat in the shade of pine trees.

The detached house, far enough from the country to spend holidays in peace but close to every type of service, is located about 50 meters above sea level behind the mountain of Castelsandra completely covered by forests full by endangered species in the park as foxes and wild boars.

It is surrounded by 2,000 sq.m. of tidy and illuminated garden which includes lawns, corners equipped for lunch

and panoramic terraces overlooking the sea of which one surrounded by Mediterranean pine trees which, together with sea breeze, make it the ideal place for sweet siestas accompanied only by the song of cicadas ...
